10 years ago, the Asian Film Market 2009 was held over 4 days from October 11 to 14 at the Seacloud Hotel in Haeundae, during the 14th BUSAN International Film Festival (Oct 8 -16). Starting with the Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP) in 1999, the market, held at 45 sales offices in the Seacloud Hotel, had grown significantly over the previous 10 years. Another decade later, in 2019 this year, it has achieved the admirable results of 200 companies registered for sales booths in Hall 4C-F of Exhibition Center 2 in BEXCO. The first Asian Film Market awards, the Asia Contents Awards, will be launched this year and will present prizes in 8 categories for innovative and outstanding Asian works.
We at Asian Film Market 2019, which starts tomorrow and will be held over 4 days, would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the many industry professionals who have participated in and supported the market over the last decade. We will continue to make further efforts this year to grow into Asia’s leading and most comprehensive content market, promising bright things for the decades to come.
